Last November 20, 2010, we, the 4th year-Mary Queen of Peace, had our first ever immersion in Brgy. Ayungon. My other classmates had a lot of fun meeting and helping their adapted family with their household chores. But we, the MTAP participants, were a little bit guilty because we went there in 1:00 p.m and our foster parents were expecting us to arrive in the morning. When I arrive at Brgy. Ayungon, our leader brought me directly at my adapted family in order to spend my remaining 2 hours with them on my first day.
I met my mother, Rowena Rublico, her 12 years old daughter, Rouielyn, and her 4 months old baby, Rouience Joy. I wasn't able to meet the other members of the family because they were not around at that time. But I did my best to know them better, to know thier lifestyle, and also to be closer to them. After chatting with them, I played with the baby because she was so cute and she was not crying, and also I washed the dishes to help them with their chores.
My first day was a meaningful day, even though I only spent a half day with them, they welcomed me wholeheartedly in their family and they treated me as part of their family.
On November 27, 2010, we went back there to continue our immersion. On that day, I was able to meet her two sons, Ven Cyril and Vincent Jay. I ask my foster mother If where is her older daughter and her Husband. She said that I can't meet them today because her husband was working at Villa Caridad and her daughter went with her father. But still, I spend that day with them happily.
But yesterday, December 11, 2010, was our last day of our immersion and at the same time, our Christmas party with our families. We bought gifts for them to show our gratitude for helping us with our new experience. The days we spent with them was a great and memorable experience. It would be a great help for all of us to face our future and they taught us on how to be strong in times of troubles. But yesterday is our time to say good bye and I really really hope that me and my family will meet again someday.
